It's safe to say that a lot of people were glad to see the back of the cursed 2016, myself included, so what better way to mark the long anticipated end than to go out with a bang, and not just any old bang! Jess and Dom invited their amazing friends and family to come and celebrate their marriage with them and give them a New Years Eve party they would never forget.
I was lucky enough to shoot Jess' brother Gareth's wedding back in 2014 when he married the lovely Alice at Albright Hussey, so I knew I was in for a treat. I've said it before but the people in the little villages deep in the Shropshire countryside really know how to throw a good shindig, and this was no exception! There was a real sense of excitement as the congregation took their seats in church, adorned with fur coats to keep warm in their sparkly party outfits on a chilly Winters day, waiting for Jess to arrive with her five beautiful maids. They got ready at Jess' childhood home in Harmer Hil wearing matching PJs , and I was treated to a few practice runs of the bridesmaids amazing speech poem while hair and make up was being done. There was such a lot of love and happiness from the word go. As well as touching readings from Winnie the Pooh and plenty of giggles, the couple chose to end their beautiful ceremony by getting everyone to sing 'I'd Do Anything' from the musical 'Oliver!', one of my favourites as a kid.
The party continued at Pimhill Barn, but I stole the couple away to the gardens for some pictures before the sun went down at 4pm. After that it was non-stop fizz, food, laughter, Mexican waves, hilarious speeches, giant wheels of cheese, and more than a few cheeky jokes, sparklers, and crazy shapes pulled on the dance floor!
Let's take a little look at this epic wedding!t
Thank you so very much to Mr and Mrs Gale for having me as your lucky photographer, I had an absolute blast at your wedding and it was the perfect way to see in what's going to be a great year!
