In May 2016 I was delighted to receive a message from Jessica out of the blue, we have a linked family history you see. Our parents were good friends a long time before either of us were born, and the house I grew up in was owned by Jessica's parents ahead of my family living there for nearly 30 years. I can remember when the families would meet up when we were children and how much she adored animals, so I wasn't surprised in the slightest to be completely bowled over by their beautiful golden Labrador Layla when I went to meet the couple at their home!
Jess and Mike's wedding was exactly how I imagined the celebration of two loving and completely genuine, sweet people to be. It was colourful, fun, relaxed and beautiful with more flowers than you could shake a stick at, and not even the pouring rain (I mean, ridiculously heavy 'buckets of water from the sky' kind of rain...) in the middle of the day could stop them from smiling. The Mytton and Mermaid was the perfect backdrop to this gorgeous occasion and the speeches were absolutely fantastic, especially from Mike's 13 year old nephew who was the best man, what a dude!
I have honestly never seen the dining room at this venue look so stunning in all my years of shooting weddings here, they did such a fantastic job. It was also lovely to be working with the very talented Joe Seager again who entertained the guests with his soothing acoustic sounds for the whole day.
Thank you so much guys for having me be the one to shoot your wonderful wedding, it was a complete joy to be a part of such a lovely day and to see some of those familiar faces again. I do love how the random twists and turns of fate bring me to the most wonderful people in this amazing job of mine.
