Now I know what you're thinking, a Rowton Castle wedding the day before Christmas Eve, it's going to be a magical Christmas wedding right? Wrong! The wedding was magical certainly, but it definitely wasn't festive themed. The date and time of year was almost completely irrelevant, all that mattered to this couple was having their awesome family and friends gathered in one place to get down and party, the fact that there were more than a few baubles and decorated trees dotted around was simply an added bonus. They chose a pretty understated colour scheme of pale green with matching floral stationary and home made sweetie jar favors and lace, letting the grandeur of the hotel surroundings do the talking and letting the couples relaxed style shine through. Even Charlotte's amazing dress, relaxed loose hair and stunning jeweled headpiece was something you would expect to see at a boho beach wedding rather than an English castle, but to this bride (and anyone who knows her) it made absolute perfect sense. Anything more traditional would have looked out of place!
With the ceremony being so late on a Winters day, there wasn't much opportunity to venture outdoors into Rowton's beautiful grounds for photographs, but that didn't matter. It just meant I had to use my imagination a bit more when it came to some romantic couple shots. Charlotte and James didn't give me a huge amount of information about what kind of pictures they wanted, but one thing they did know was that they didn't want anything to mushy or posey. We kept things quick, light and simple in order to create images that showed their love for each other without being staged, and it really worked. The photographs concentrated on what meant the most to the couple which was their family and friends having a great time, and they really did! They dined on a hearty candlelit dinner of fish and chips with bread and butter, and enjoyed some wonderful heartfelt speeches before a super cute first dance to Lenachka's 'Go Slow'.
Charlotte and James did everything on their wedding day exactly the way they wanted to, and didn't settle for anything less than a celebration that represented what makes them such an awesome team together. A party full of fun, family, love and laughter and a little bit of Summer in the Winter time. Thank you so much guys for having me be the one to capture such a unique occasion!
