Aaah, Ant and Kirsty. What a marvellous pair you are! I look back on your wedding photographs and I genuinely grin from ear to ear as I remember what a complete and utter JOY it was to work with you both. From the second I met you and your families just over a year before the big day, all the way through to our emails and engagement shoot, it was non-stop giggles, aching faces, and full blown belly laughing until my sides hurt! I love and adore you both, and I'm so very glad you chose me to capture your wedding for you.
I always love weddings at The Mytton and Mermaid Hotel, and this of course was no exception. The beautiful function room was subtly decorated with pale blues and white accessories, with splashes of pink in their stunning floral arrangements. The whole day was stunning and filled with laughter from start to finish, a day centred around family, friends and fun, the perfect reflection of this couple and the amazing relationship they have together.
I hope you enjoy these images and that they make you smile as much as they do me!
I adored Sian and James the moment I met them at their wedding venue almost exactly a year before their beautiful big day. Poor James was cowering in the foetal position nursing a hangover in the corner while Sian and I got VERY excited discussing all things wedding and our shared love of cows and Jack Russell Terriers, I just knew this was a match made in heaven (sorry James!)!
There was no question that this gorgeous pair chose the perfect venue for them, nothing would do but a farm wedding, and lucky for them the fantastic Morrells Wood Farm, part of the Wroxeter Hotel group (Shropshire Farm and Festival Weddings) had recently opened as a new option for those looking for something a little bit different in Shropshire. As well as genuine barns that are full of livestock for half the year, gorgeous views of the Wrekin, and great food, the farm also offers fabulous holiday cottages for you and your guests just metres away from the party.
The ceremony took place at St Mary's Church just down the road from the farm on the Leighton Estate, a truly stunning little countryside church steeped in history, and the couple enjoyed their first journey as husband and wife in a horse drawn carriage to their magical reception. I took hundred and hundreds of photographs of the beautifully vintage decorated milking shed where the afternoon tea was served, there was just so much to look at!
Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Higginson for having me shoot your special day!
