The 1970's evokes so many iconic images in our thoughts and memories, even for a 90's child like myself. The music, the fashion, the distinct patterns and colours that shook the world for a decade, have always fascinated me throughout my life and have been a heavy influence for my art and personal style as long as I can remember.
So what better way to celebrate all that awesomeness than by bringing it all back to life with a styled shoot?! Last Saturday I gathered together a whopping 12 incredible wedding suppliers at Pimhill Barn, who I knew could help bring this vision to life. Not only did they deliver, but they made the whole experience better than I ever imagined!
We set the scene of a 1970's tea party using the browns, bright oranges and clashing reds, all pulled together using matching crockery, stationary, and cake. For the two 'brides' we created two distinct looks. The first a slightly elfin, folklore style with a fabulous floaty chiffon gown, flower headpiece, wild bouquet and soft make-up. The second was inspired by the iconic women of the time like Bianca Jagger and Cher, using heavier make up to dramatise the eyes, statement brow band, and stunning lace dress detail.
...and the Ford Capri? Well, that was just for fun!
I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as we enjoyed creating them. My biggest and most sincere thanks to the marvellous team who brought it all together to perfectly.
